NY Dream Home: Mary Randolph Carter

Welcome to the Upper East Side, home of Mary Randolph Carter, senior executive at Ralph Lauren. Her Style is inspired by the 1980s trend of decorating your Manhattan apartment like country houses. Her cozy home is filled with books, photos, paintings and items from all over the world.

Ms Carter is calling her home a 'scrapbook of our lives'. She lives with her husband in this incredible apartment for 40 years now. One of the reasons she is collecting so many stuff has to do with her youth. When she was 16, the family's house burned to the ground with all their belongings. From then she decorated her home with items that provide a sense of familiarity.

While it is quite different compared to my taste of decorating, I find this home super interesting. Everywhere you look there are things that have a story, especially since she already lives here for so long. I would love to take a peek in her amazing home and look between all her fascinating things! What do you think of this country Style interior?

TV shows for the summer

Now that it is summer, all our favourite TV shows are taking a break. No Masterchef to watch at the end of your working day, no daily soap opera. What to do?! Well, now it is the perfect time to watch old tv shows you always wanted to see! I made my top 5 for you and all (except for Sherlock) are finished so you can watch all the episodes in one time.

The O.C.
I think I mentioned this show a few times before on my blog while it is one of my favourite shows ever! Love love love Ryan & Marissa and Seth & Summer!

Gilmore Girls
The quick dialogues between Lorelai and Rory is something that people could drive crazy, but for me it is the charm of the show. "Life's short, talk fast'.

Friends
I don't think I have to explain this one. This show honestly never gets boring!

Sherlock
I finished season 1-3 a while ago and it is genius! It is renewed for season 4 which will start in 2016 (yes, you read it right 2016, so you have enough time to catch up ha)

Lost
This show is so excited and I warn you; you want to watch episode after episode. I was so hooked! You have so many questions and many unexpected things happen...

& Other Stories

As you can read in my previous post I visited Antwerp in Belgium for a day and of course I had to do some shopping! I visited & Other Stories, which is the greatest store ever! I heard about this amazing store and I was so happy when I came across the shop in Antwerp! They sell clothes, accessories, beauty products, shoes, bags, well...almost everything! I picked up 2 beauty products which I want to share with you today:

First the Body Scrub Equatorial Dreams. This one reminded me of the Sabon Body Scrub Lemon/Mint, but that one is based on salt. I prefer one that is based on sugar while these are mostly more gentler on the skin. The smell is amazing, it is so fresh. The scrub is great, your skin gets so smooth, even after a day or 2 your skin still feels silky! This one is normally 15 euros, but I bought it in the sale with 50% discount, not bad!

Of course I had to check out the lipsticks. They had a nice collection and I ended up with this lipstick in the colour 'Calamanco Coral'. Lately I am obsessed with coral lipsticks, don't ask me why! I just think it is a great colour and among coral coloured lipsticks there is a big variety. It is quite long lasting, not as long as the more high-end ones, but it is okay. The colour is lovely and I am also postive about the texture. The packaging is simple with only the name on the bottom of the lipstick, but that fits with the Style of the brand.

I wanted to shop more at & Other Stories, but is was so crowded. I have to come back for sure! They also have a webshop, check it out here

A Day In Antwerp

I recently visited Antwerp in Belgium. I visited this amazing city before and I never get tired of it!

First of all, the Central Station is worth visiting, even if you are not travelling by train.

When you walk to the city, you pass an indoor mall with a beautiful ceiling called "Stadsfeestzaal".

Shopping at Urban Outfitters. I love the instant camera's and the different films you can choose.

Beautiful buildings in the city

Laduree! Do I need to say more?

The window of & Other Stories. One of my favourite stores, I bought a few items, which I will show you in another post.

Just a lovely shop.

At a market in the city they sold these pictures. The black and white picture with the red scooter is my favourites.

The sweet tooth in me was of course attracted to the nougat with nutella.

After all that shopping and walking around it was time for a drink. We found a cute coffee bar which is combined with a vintage shop.

After that my battery was low and I couldn't make any more pictures, sorry....

In the evening we went to see The Fault in our Stars. I already read the book so I knew what I could expect (fortunately, otherwise I would have cried my eyes out). It was such a fun day and hope to get back really soon! Hope you enjoyed this post!

Fendi Resort 2015

I have to admit that I have never been a real Fendi girl. I got introduced to these designer handbags by Carrie. Who remembers the episode that she was robbed of her Fendi Baguette bag (which by the way put Fendi back on the designer-handbag-map) and later she and Samantha are looking to buy fake ones from a trunk in an alley.

I never had a click with these bags, of course they are amazing and beautiful, but they didn't catch my eye. Until now! Look at these awesome bags from the Fendi Resort 2015 collection. The collection is inspired by modern pop art. The bags really stand out with their mixed patterns and colours. They are not as classic as the 2Jours, but if you are looking for something unique this might be something for you!

Pop of colour

I am obsessed with white interiors combined with a pop of colour! It feels so fresh, clean and fun! For my own home I am changing slowly to this Style and love to search for inspiration, which I found in these 4 pictures.

Hope you have great Sunday!

Summer Tunes

I love summer tunes! I was looking on YouTube for some songs to listen to while blogging and I came across a few happy tunes I hadn't heard for a while. They remind me of the great summers in the past. Sometimes you just need to hear some oldies, close your eyes and think of those happy times! Which one is your favourite?

The Underdog Project - Summer Jam

Nina Sky - Move Ya Body

 Rupee - Tempted to Touch

Enamorame -Papi Sanchez

  Juanes - La Camisa Negra

Beyonce - Crazy in Love

Jennifer Lopez - Ain't it Funny

Nelly Furtado - Promiscuous ft. Timbaland

Rebecca Minkoff: which one to choose...

I need your help! In September I will go to New York City again (makes a small happy dance) and I want to buy a Rebecca Minkoff bag in the most awesome city in the world. Lately I am a little obsessed with the bags of Rebecca Minkoff and would love to buy one in a gorgeous blue colour. She has 3 bags I adore, but I can't choose! Which one would you choose or advise? Tell me!

First we have M.A.C. clutch in bright blue. I love this design and it seems like you can put quite a lot of stuff in it. The chain strap is perfect and the colour is amazing!

Then we have the MINI M.A.C. which is one size smaller than the M.A.C. clutch. I am afraid it might be too small, so I have to see it first in the shop, but it looks so cute!

This is the famous MINI 5-ZIP. I love all the zippers and again the chain strap. I think this bag is one of Rebecca Minkoff's most famous designs.

All these bags are available in more gorgeous colours, so I could choose for another colour when I see the bags in the shop, but in the meantime I would love to hear your comments!

I'm back!

I haven't upload any posts lately. I don't know exactly what happened but I couldn't find the time to blog due to all kinds of things; busy, sick, no inspiration... you know what I mean. But I'm back and have tons of new ideas and inspirations! I love to keep in touch with you guys and hear what your plans for the summer are!
